The NYRA Board of Directors met December 27 in a meeting held over the telephone. During the meeting, the BOD held officer elections and approved six new position papers. NYRA officers elected at the meeting were Vice President, which went to acting Vice President Matt Herman, and Treasurer, which went to BOD member Alex Koroknay-Palicz. NYRA President Avram Hein and Secretary Matt Walcoff were re-elected. The position papers which were approved cover driving, economics, status offenses, free speech, age discrimination in businesses and entertainment. “The papers are general enough to allow various policy solutions and tempered enough to reflect current political realities yet forceful enough to say young people are tired of the status quo,” Hein said.
